Waited for a moonless night to test this out, and the thermal imaging picked up a raccoon at about 80 yards clearly. The 2-8x zoom range is perfect for scanning fields without losing sight of the target. Really impressed with the detail in the image quality.

Finally got a clear view of a coyote at about 150 yards in total darkness—the 2-8x magnification made it easy to track movement. Only wish the battery life stretched a bit longer for those extended trips.

Took this out for a night hike and the heat signatures from animals popped clearly even in total darkness. The 2-8x zoom let me spot a coyote at a good distance without losing detail. It's sturdy and the controls are intuitive enough to use with gloves on.
